Submitting your podcast to Apple Podcasts and other apps

Last updated 14 October 2026

Listeners use many apps, but most of them read from one directory: Apple Podcasts. Submit there first, and the rest follow.

What you need before submitting

Apple Podcasts

  1. Click Distribution in the dashboard and copy your feed address.
  2. Open Apple Podcasts Connect and sign in with an Apple ID.
  3. Add a show, choose "Add a show with an RSS feed", paste the address, and submit.

Apple reviews new shows, usually within a few days. Once approved, the show has an Apple Podcasts link, which the Distribution screen stores for your website's subscribe buttons.

Spotify

Spotify no longer reads from Apple. Sign in at Spotify for Creators, add the show with the same feed address, and confirm ownership by the email it sends. Spotify lists audio episodes; video episodes delivered to the feed as video are skipped there (Podmaniac sends audio versions by default).

Everyone else

Amazon Music, Pocket Casts, Overcast, Castbox, Podcast Addict and most others read Apple's directory and pick the show up within days of Apple's approval, or accept the feed address directly. The Distribution screen tracks each one and keeps the links.

After submitting

You never submit again. Every episode you publish reaches every app through the feed. Apps check feeds on their own schedule; most see a new episode within an hour, Apple sometimes takes longer.
