Moving your podcast to Podmaniac from another host
Last updated 14 October 2026
Moving in copies your whole podcast here and keeps your subscribers, because every episode keeps the ID it already has in the apps. It is part of the Smart plan and above; Basic is for starting a new podcast.
Before you start
- Find your podcast's RSS feed address at your current host. The New show screen lists where each host keeps it.
- Keep your old host active until the move is complete; nothing at the old host changes until you change it.
Step 1. Preview the move
Click New show, then Move an existing podcast here. Paste the feed address and click the preview button. Podmaniac reads the feed and shows what it found: the show, its artwork, the episodes, and any warnings (for example an episode without an audio file). Nothing has been copied yet.
Step 2. Import
Choose the feed address your podcast will have here and click Import this podcast. The show and all its episodes appear at once, with their original IDs. Audio files, artwork and chapter files are then copied across in the background, newest first; you can carry on working while that runs, and the feed serves each episode from its old address until its copy is complete.
Step 3. Keep publishing wherever you like
Until you mark the move complete, Podmaniac checks your old feed every hour and adds any new episode you publish there. So there is no frozen week: publish at the old host or here, whichever you prefer, until you are ready.
Step 4. Load your download history
In Show settings, under Moving from another host, you can load the download history your old host lets you export (a CSV per episode or a show total). It is added to your all time figure and labelled as imported, so measured numbers stay separate from imported ones.
Step 5. Switch the apps and mark the move complete
- At your old host, set a redirect from the old feed to your new one (every host offers this; it is the step that moves your subscribers).
- In Apple Podcasts Connect, and at Spotify for Creators if you submitted there directly, change the feed address to the new one. Other apps follow Apple.
- Back in Show settings, click Mark the move complete. That stops the hourly check of the old feed and locks the import tools.
Your listeners notice nothing: new episodes keep arriving in the same subscription.
Common questions
Will my subscribers come with me?
Yes. Every episode keeps the ID it already has in the apps, and the redirect you set at your old host sends every app to the new feed. To a listener nothing changes: new episodes keep arriving in the same subscription.
Do I have to stop publishing while I move?
No. Until you mark the move complete, Podmaniac checks your old feed every hour and adds any new episode you publish there, so you can publish at either host during the move.
Which plan includes moving in?
Smart, Pro and Studio. Basic is made for starting a new podcast.
Can I bring my download history?
Yes. Load the export from your old host (a CSV per episode or a show total) under Moving from another host in Show settings. It is added to your all time figure and labelled as imported.
