The free trial

Payment

Payments are taken by Polar, our reseller and merchant of record. Polar accepts cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, charges in US dollars (your bank converts at the day's rate), and adds or includes the tax your country requires. Invoices read "Podmaniac via Polar Software, Inc.", and on your card statement the charge appears as POLAR*podmaniac.

Invoices and payment method

In Billing, click Manage payment and invoices. That opens your Polar page, where every invoice can be downloaded and the card can be changed. Polar also emails a receipt after each payment.

If a payment fails

Polar retries the card over a few days and emails you. Your podcast keeps serving meanwhile. If the payment keeps failing, the subscription ends and the rules in What happens after a subscription ends apply.

Refunds

If Podmaniac is not right for you, ask within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. Renewals are not refunded, because you can cancel at any time before the renewal date and keep the service to the end of the paid period. Full policy in the terms. To ask, email hello@podmaniac.com from your account's address.

Common questions

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Basic and Smart are free for the first 14 days. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then. Each account gets one trial, on whichever of the two it starts with.

Are prices inclusive of tax?

Prices are in US dollars before tax. GST, VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where your country charges it, and you see the total before you pay.

Who takes the payment and what appears on my statement?

Polar, our reseller and merchant of record. Invoices read Podmaniac via Polar Software, Inc., and the card statement line reads POLAR*podmaniac.

Can I get a refund?

The first payment is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days. Renewals are not refunded, except a yearly renewal asked about within 14 days with no new episode published since. Full policy under Refunds in the terms.
